Rules

Conduct & Fair Play

Last updated: 2026-06-28

These rules apply to every player on Atavia. By creating an account and playing, you agree to follow them. Breaking a rule may lead to penalties up to and including a permanent ban. The rules are enforced by the Atavia team, whose decisions are final.

1. Account Security & Sharing

Your account is yours to protect. Never share your password or recovery details with anyone — including people claiming to be staff. Atavia staff will never ask you for your password.

You are responsible for everything that happens on your account. If you choose to share it with someone else, you do so entirely at your own risk; we will not restore items, characters, or progress lost through account sharing.

2. Character, Account & Guild Names

Names must respect other players and the world. A name must not:

  • be offensive, obscene, or hateful;
  • harass or reference a real person without their consent;
  • impersonate staff (for example "GM", "CM", "Admin", or "Atavia Team");
  • contain advertising, web addresses, or nonsensical formatting;
  • use real-life full names or the names of well-known public figures.

Names that break these rules may be locked or changed by staff.

3. Cheating, Botting & Third-Party Software

Atavia is meant to be played by hand. The following are forbidden:

  • bots, macros, auto-clickers, or any software that plays for you or automates actions;
  • modified or unofficial game clients;
  • tools that read or alter game memory or network traffic to gain an advantage.

Using such tools may result in an immediate and permanent ban without warning.

4. Bug Abuse & Exploits

If you find a bug, report it — do not use it. Intentionally exploiting bugs, duplication glitches, or unintended mechanics for personal gain is forbidden. Players who report serious bugs responsibly may be rewarded at the team's discretion.

5. Scamming & Real-Money Trading

Trading is part of the game, but dishonest trading is not. Scamming other players — deceiving them to take their items, characters, or in-game currency — is forbidden.

Trading game content (accounts, characters, items, or currency) for real money or anything of real-world value is also forbidden. See our Terms of Use regarding the value of virtual items.

6. Chat, Conduct & Harassment

Treat other players with respect. The following are not allowed:

  • spam or flooding of any channel;
  • real-world advertising;
  • hate speech, threats, or harassment;
  • sharing other people's personal information (doxxing);
  • sexually explicit or otherwise illegal content.

Disagreements happen — harassment does not have to.

7. Impersonating Staff

Never claim to be, or imply that you are, a gamemaster, tutor, or member of the Atavia team. Official staff are clearly identified in-game. Impersonating staff to deceive or intimidate players is treated as a serious offence.

8. Enforcement & Penalties

We apply penalties proportionate to the offence and to a player's history. Depending on severity, consequences may include a formal warning, a temporary name lock or account ban, or a permanent ban and removal of characters. Serious offences — such as botting, real-money trading, or threats — may skip warnings entirely. The Atavia team decides penalties at its discretion, and its decisions are final.

9. Reporting a Violation

Help us keep Atavia fair. You can report rule-breaking by using the in-game report function or by contacting the team at privacy@atavia. Include the character name, the world, and the date and time, along with any screenshots. Reports are handled confidentially.
